What constitutes a tunnel for your purposes? Underground passage of any length? For instance, the most direct route would be 93S to Storrow Drive. When exiting 93S to Storrow Drive (93S > 3 > 28) there is an extended underpass (perhaps 200 feet long) in which traffic can move slowly. Would be that be OK? If so, your route is fairly easy.

As you probably know Waze and Google Maps have the option to avoid things like highways and tolls, but not tunnels. You could use Google Maps and set manual waypoints to reroute where it has you going through tunnels. Depending on where you are coming from, the route above works as well though 128S can be a nightmare depending on the time.

I was more worried about long tunnel like ONeil or Callhan etc- 200 ft is not too bad- thank you so much !

No need to go through Boston to get to Beth Israel. Just get on 95/128 and take Route 9 through Newton and Brookline and work your way to Brookline Ave through there.

You can even leave the car at Riverside or Woodland green line stop and take the subway to Longwood if you prefer less driving.
