Hartford is 45.8 miles from Northampton/50 minutes

CT shares boundaries with RI and MA. CT coast merges into RI coast

What has this got to do with Boston? It's about CT being part of New England.

Based on my more recent trips, I would unfortunately have to agree with you. It has been going on for about 15 years. Perhaps I just notice it more having moved out of state, but it seems to have accelerated over the last 5 years especially. I still think the western half of CT is even more of a lost cause, however.

Well, check how far Boston is from, say, Fort Kent, Maine. And yet no one is saying that part of Maine belongs in Canada.

Actually, many do (even in other parts of Northern Maine).

CT is part of New England but Fairfield County is more tied to NYC

Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Danbury, New Haven

Commuting patterns are an indication of areas people are associated with. South of Waterbury and New Haven, in central and western New Haven County, the majority of commuters aren’t commuting north. They’re going into Fairfield County and New York. So socially, and culturally, New Haven is very connected with New York City. That’s all I was saying.

Mostly because they root for the Giants, Yankees and Knicks. They also root for college basketball but most people in the Boston don't recognize college sports.

They all know who Doug Flutie is. They don't recognize college sports because metro Boston doesn't have competitive teams these days in anything but hockey. Boston College upset Dooook in basketball this year but it's not like BC is an ACC basketball power.

I know who Rebecca Lobo is. And Diana Taurasi. And Sue Bird isn't Larry's little sister.
