I can only imagine that it is. We have close friends who grew up and now live in Weston. I grew up playing AAU ball in the MetroWest, and many of the players called Weston home. It’s unlike other wealth I’ve seen. It’s the wealthiest zip of any town in New England. 20k sqft homes on 10 acre plots are not uncommon. each gated and fenced in for absolute seclusion. It’s largely compromised of folks like Bill Swanson, who took a limo service to and from work every day. It’s a town of no neighbors. No noise. Just the fruits of your accomplishments.

Occasionally, I wonder who buys the $900k ranch on the main road in Weston. Why would that be appealing?

For someone like myself, it honestly sounds like a nightmare to live there. Give me the $1M colonial off of downtown Andover, or the $800k Victorian in East Melrose.

I grew up in a home right near the Wellesley/Weston town line. I used to babysit for a few families in Weston. I never saw them to be different at all.

It’s still New England. Not sure it’s as in your face as Beverly Park. Actually, it’s not in your face at all.. Which brings me back to the seclusion piece.

Either way, you’re probabaly right. I’m sure there are still plenty of folks in Weston that live fairly modestly.

Our friends were recently telling us that the Linde family, the Pallotta family, the Grousebeck family, Theodore Alfond all live in the same area. Not many areas in MA where literal billionaires share neighborhoods.

Personally, I don't really find the people of Weston to be snobby. While the houses are large and many of the residents uber wealthy, most of them seem to be pretty reserved and not ostentatious. These are people who live in Weston because they value their privacy. So, they're unlikely to do something like drive a lime green Lambo with gold wheels. In my experience, they don't tend to do things that shout "hey look at me I'm rich!" I see much, much more of that in Wellesley.

Bill Belichick lived in Weston until he got divorced. I drive by his old house all the time.

If I had Weston money, I would not live in Weston. Have nothing against the place so much, just not the place for many people.

But in terms of snobbyness, I would agree that my perception is that Weston is not a snobby place for the money it has. Whereas Chestnut Hill is - it's like the Northern NJ of Mass.

Weston is country club snobby. Chestnut Hill is tween girls on cell phones wearing Pink leggings in the back of their parents' Mercedes snobby, which I think is culturally grosser.

I only know Weston for passing through it on I-90/Mass Pike. Is their eastern neighbor, Newton, a rich city/town?

Greenwich is definitely a money pit. So is a big portion of Fairfield County, except for Bridgeport (CT's largest city). Our other "money" area seems to be the Farmington (River) Valley. Towns like Avon and Simbury come to mind. Portions of Farmington and West Hartford look pricey, too.

Parts of Newton are wealthy, like Chestnut Hill which we were discussing.

Isn't Westport, Ct. very wealthy? One of my childhood friends moved there and I spent a few days visiting her. It seemed like it was.
