Nonsensical random statements for $1000, Alex.

Point is, it takes a single motivated actor to do something like this. Could be completely random, or could very well be tied to the recent and very public SJC ruling. I’m merely pointing out that there are an array of motivations which might cause a bad actor to target the church which are entirely separate from the recent BLM protests. There’s no evidence to support the latter, but this did not prevent a few posters from drawing that conclusion.

And that is MUCH MUCH MUCH nicer to what he actually did to living humans.
Columbus was a pretty bad governor, not the worse at the time but certainly not the best but what he did was pretty mainstream.

The reason why he is celebrated is that no country that exist today in the Americas would exist in this form had he not traveled from Europe.
Considering the historical impact that was produced by that event, Columbus may very well be the most important single person in the history of mankind.
It doesn't mean he should be sainted but this recent idea to reduce him to a monster it just shows how little people really understand of history.

He was such a monster that he was shackled and sent back in chains to prison due to his over the top brutalism of the native peoples under his oversight.

Lets not try to... change history.

There is also no reason for something like this to happen as part of an organized effort by BLM.
It's not just the lack of evidence, it doesn't make any sense.

Once in Spain he was cleared of most charges and sent back to the Americas by the Spanish crown. At the expenses of the Crown.

I agree, Lets not try to... change history.

Yes, he was pardoned by those he was making filthy rich as they received the vast majority (90% believe) of what he.... collected.

No conflict of interest there.

And I dispute using little girls as sexual slaves and hacking up little boys for joy, as was done by him and his crew, was mainstream for the time.
