In my life experience, with people who are consistently and rabidly pro-cop, it’s the family business. Who is it? Father? Uncles? Brothers? Cousins?

I voted for the current city council and support this policy. Funny how democracy works. If you disagree, feel free to vote at the next Cambridge city council election for a different slate of candidates. There were 22 candidates in this past election.

What a silly comment. Are you proposing this as some kind of authenticity test for a policy you clearly disagree with? There's plenty of city services that I support and pay taxes where I don't get personally involved. You're welcome to move to Cambridge and vote in the next election.

I rely on the city manager with city council oversight to govern the city. If proposal has trouble hiring people, then they'll deal with this or modify the policy. I agree with the proposal because I believe that policing domain has expanded beyond traditional areas in ways that are inefficient and sometimes counter-productive.

It's not silly at all. It's one of the most basic tests for if one is a true leader or not. That is, do not send your troops into a situation you wouldn't put yourself or family member into. Another leadership quality, is recognizing danger BEFORE you put them in harms way and not wait for casualty to happen in order to react. So a big FAIL there.

Similar to the maskless warriors out there, this will be another test of Darwinism.
