I don’t blame him but definitely seems like some double standards going on. At the same time I haven’t heard anything about any BLm protests lately.

You're beating an old, tired drum. First, the BLM protesters were overwhelmingly masked; second, Baker offered free testing for the protesters back in mid-June which demonstrated that there was not a significant increase in transmission due to the gatherings.

The risk profile of protest gatherings (which have significantly ebbed in MA from early to mid-June) may prove different from parties-in-place of non-household members. Partying in place with alcohol typically involves closer density/proximity for longer durations with the same non-household members, and with gradual lowering of inhibitions, so viral load risk may (may) be higher.

It gets worse, can't have more than 10 people on private property at your house, but sure 50 at a wedding, and then more than 10 on a public bus or other transportation. Sure makes tons of sense.

Baker is doing a great job during these difficult times. The overwhelming majority of people in Massachusetts support his actions to keep us safe.

Done a great job, highest unemployment in the country and one of the highest death rates in the country. I guess your standards are low.

Colleges and universities, tourism, hospitality, and health care are among our chief industries. They've all been hit hard by the pandemic for obvious reasons which is why our unemployment rate is so high. For every college campus or conference center that went remote, so the business of a nearby sub shop or pizza joint goes bust. It was what happened to NYC right after 9/11. As for the high death rate, well we have a ton of retired elderly and service personnel that cannot physically distance in their jobs. Governor Baker has kept the Commonwealth orderly during these trying times. What more do you want?

This is an old drum also, that's been beaten. The death rate is skewed by March / April, when we were hit the hardest in the Northeast, there was a lack of clarity around the mode of transmission, and no mandatory masking. Since then, the numbers and trend have been stellar (I don't want to jinx it). The unemployment rate is highest precisely because MA has been the most cautious about reopening.

So quite the contrary, our standards are high because we value human life and public health.
