These folks are in wake forest which I’m guessing is nice but as I mentioned they don’t make a lot of money. They got very lucky in how much their house value increased from 2019 to 2022.
How do you know they don't make good money? Maybe they won millions in the lottery or own multiple properties.

I mentioned I know what they do for their jobs. It’s not hard to figure out. Sure maybe they won the lottery.l
It’s hard to understand why someone would take all that money and invest into a home in MA in this market. It seems like a bad financial decision to me but I know so many people think ma is the greatest place on earth.

You're simply guessing at that. They were able to buy a $550K house in NC in 2019 and pay for a kid to play travel hockey. They may not be making $300K a year but they must be doing okay.
Ok I guess people are missing my point in giving up a beautiful house and nice lifestyle in NC to move to MA when things are at the top of the market here for children’s hockey. I’m the crazy one I guess.

I agree with you, it seems really foolish. They could just send him to hockey camp here during the summer.

Right? Neither parent played hockey growing up, the kid is good and they are worried about him 'regressing' if he doesn't continue to be around players that are as good as him and better. Obviously it's their choice but the parents are in their 30's, kids are like 8 and 5 they have a long way to go in life.
The other thing is that once they're here they might be like, hmmm my kid actually isn't as good as I thought he was lol.
It all just seems backwards to me. I’d love to sell my house and end up with a house like the one they have in NC so it seems weird to me that there throwing that away for the hope that their kid will be the next Bobby Orr. Perhaps they hate NC and there is more to their story but from a real estate/lifestyle perspective I don’t get it.
