LOL! Sen. Loophole!

But where will you stop? Corporations not only bribe the they write the bill for them, with all the loopholes. That is what we have to deal with.
Heck I"d rather use TurboTax and kvetch in the time saved. At least my money spent goes into the money supply, raises the GDP and pays for schools and bridges.

I’ve never found doing my taxes in Excel to be a burden. If you have to do quarterly estimated tax payments, you’re already tracking everything. I hadn’t done a Massachusetts return in ages. I sold my Winchester house in 1998. It used to be a couple of pages and 30 minutes. Doing Federal in Free Fillable Forms is copy-paste from my spreadsheet and doesn’t take long. The 2021 Massachusetts return was a huge PITA and the instructions are so poorly written that I have no clue if I did it correctly. It’s a 5% flat tax. It should be trivial for most people.

I have a list of companies I won’t do business with and Intuit is fairly high on that list. I’m not going to let an unnecessarily complicated Massachusetts state income tax return compromise that decision.
