Nor does Weston, Wayland, Lincoln, Sudbury. Many of the small affluent towns do not offer trash pickup. One must either use a private hauler or go to the town transfer station.

Cohasset doesn’t either. Going to the town transfer station is strangely a community/social activity - I kind of like it

In my town you can bring it to the dump yourself or sign up/pay to have a trash company pick it up for you. There's a mix.

Understandable. When I lived in Boston people could be pretty disgusting about trash they put out. I remember walking by buckets that looked like people just threw anything in there, dirty diapers, tampons in the street because people didn't know how to use trash bags I guess. Food, flies everywhere. Felt like a 3rd world country in certain neighborhoods.

True for a lot of rural towns in central and western MA. if you are too small it can be hard to get a reasonable offer from a company for a town-wide service.

So everyone keeps their stinky trash bags in the garage for a week, then throw them in the back of their SUV and have a jolly ole time at the stinky dump? LoL.

Yes. Or you can sign up to have a trash truck pick up your trash.
