Who's paying the electric bill for all the migrants that come here by the thousands each day ? Oh that would be the tax payers.

Always amazing to me how many fail to grasp (either through ignorance or deliberately) the macroeconomics of supply & demand.

Anyone that lives in a town or city that is part of the Mass Power Choice program can lock in their supply rate until November 2023 or the November 2024 meter read. The budget plans are typically a third of the proposed rate hikes National Grid plans to go live with on November 1, 2022.

Look under the Community section. Example, I live in Westborough and opted in for the budget plan at $0.09709 per kWh. National Grid is proposing increasing their supply rate to $0.33891 per kWh through April 30, 2023:

This PDF is a great resource. I suggest bookmarking it as it shows all the proposed details before go live. You can also see historical rates. This is for supply only. The delivery rate has pretty much doubled since I started keeping track of my electricity usage in 2013.

Locking in my supply rate for this year is probably going to save me close to $1,000 this winter.

All the improvements I've made to my property have resulted in using around 4,000 kWh less per year compared to when I moved in. However, I am spending more. I wish the news would stop telling people to unplug stuff and talk more about this Mass Power Choice program.
