It’s not that nice. Nothing at all that says “best” about Burlington- city or town.

Burlington is very convenient for shopping and dining, while not being over crowded. It still has many quiet streets in the woods. I think it is underrated by locals, so new comers would be happy to live there.

I think it's nice. What places would you consider nice?

It's really not a matter of nice vs. not nice. Burlington is convenient, the schools are good, and there's a messload of industry both in and around the town. There's a lot to love about those things, especially when stack ranking towns and cities.

But if nice, as in nice looking, is a central criteria for this list.. I think we can all agree that there are many others in Eastern MA that would make this list before Burlington.

I have a lot of questions about this list, but the biggest... What's going on with the affordability rankings? E.g. If I am reading this correctly, places like Lexington and Needham are ranked as more affordable than the median.

Heh?

Pretty much my thought, lotta highways/wide roads, an okay but large mall, office parks, ranches, capes and bland condos. Sparsely developed main roads. To me, I've definitely never thought of it as someplace as nice as Melrose or Newton. I worked for a moving company on the Billerica/ Burlington (Father and Son) one summer. I guess Ive always thus associated Burlington with Billerica and the mall

When I think of nice, I think of a nice place to raise a family. There's lots of nice activities for kiddos to do in Burlington. They just had a truck day a few weekends ago. Lots of summer camp options through the rec center. The preschool is great. But I guess you can say that about many towns/cities in MA.

I've never lived in Melrose or Newton but those are a little too crowded for me. I do like going out to eat at Melrose's downtown area. I haven't been to Newton much besides the hospital. We've probably paid hundreds of dollars in parking fees over the years.

Newton is pretty nice isn’t it? Is there any bad parts?
