Well, for an "willful failure to enforce immigration laws" they're failing at that willfill failure since they're actually aprehending record numbers. Clinton, Obama, and Biden, all politicians I don't like like very much, all increased funding to and staffing of the border patrol. They really stink at failure, it seems, since that's what some think they're trying to do.

Building a huge wall rarely if ever works except to stop a calvary (short walls with people manning it every few meters can work). It will make criminal cartels richer, and hurt wildlife, such as the border jaguar population, but whatever. No one cares about effectiveness, just sloganeering. We COULD stop doing things to destabilize these countries people are coming from, but noooo. Can't be introspective and take responsibility for our role.

The Border Patrol isn't failing. The BP is doing what they are sworn to do. They can't do it all....and they aren't doing it all. The willful failure comes from the top, not from the civil service. Sending funding to BP and then ignoring other aspects of Border security is a disingenuous way of making it look like you're doing something, when you're really not. It's also a good way to use the money of the government for your other hidden agendas and you'd look like a real idiot if you didn't provide some funding to DHS when your counterparts are.

Building a perimeter barrier as a security measure is never intended to stop all threats. Never. So when you say it doesn't "work" you're applying a standard that is never applied to such a security measure. A barrier is intended to delay. Nothing more. It delays a threat until it can be responded to. Although it would stop many, it's intended to be one element in what should be a robust program of countermeasures. That;s what ALL security programs are about. Basic stuff here. Holding a fence, wall or other barrier to an unachievable and unintended standard of "stopping" and preventing all threats is just a way of changing the subject. A barrier also serves as a force multiplier to the BP force that cannot possibly respond to all incursions and which is dwindling in numbers as we speak.

How are they terrorizing you exactly? I'm far more concerned about the rise of far-right extremist groups, who have proven they will commit domestic terrorism to achieve their goals.

Amigo, current policy is letting anyone able to mumble the coaches and rehearsed "asylum jefe, asylum" line to waltz right in. And that's not border patrol's policy, that's coming straight from uncle joe.

You mean domestic terrorists slaughtering thousands upon thousands each year in cold blood to achieve their financial or sometimes simply "street cred" goals? Because let's face it, your chance of getting killed by one of those assuming you're black or brown is a whole lot higher than your chance of getting killed by those scary rethuglican repugnican hutaree buggalo juggalos.

Nobody should have to open their wallets for them. They need to become contributing members of society (and according to this study, many are).
