They're asylum seekers as a technical matter of law. That doesn't mean they aren't gaming the system (the terrible system we have set up) but it's the reality, unfortunately. And if it wasn't a mess before, it's even more of a mess now that the Administration has dismantled the remain in Mexico policy (currently on hold: https://apnews.com/article/texas-don...118a798129f319). Ah, but you see, those lower population density areas (e.g. Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas) are solid red states. Which would defeat the purpose of what Desantis/Abbott are doing, which is to "own the libs". They're least interested in being part of a solution, or working cooperatively with other states & the feds.

Far more political posturing going on with far left than with right. If you're not interested in enforcing laws and cooperating with other law enforcement agencies you have no business being the executive. Same goes for the Administration in their failure to cooperate with states directly affected by illegal migration.
