If you were wondering what he was going to do once leaving office. I was thinking he'd go to private industry but this might pay good enough for him.

Good job for him. No heavy lifting or serious decisions to make.

Good paying gig, I'm sure. That's going to be a headache of a job though, with the seemingly inevitable breakoff of the Power 5 from the NCAAs looming. Hope he doesn't have to relocate to Indy. Woof.

edit: Never mind the NIL wild west. The last guy really mismanaged, or didn't manage at all, the last several years.

Or at least the consequences of Governor Train Wreck's ineptness will no longer be at such a catastrophic level and affecting real lives in the same manner.

What’s wrong with Indiana amigo, not enough blue-haired Che shirt wearers to maintain a nonstop “progressive” circlejerk? Carmel and Fishers look like great towns, better than anything in MA that’s easily attainable to those making less than half mil a year - both are high on my list if I get bored of this place.

Hey now, what's wrong with Indy?

I'm intimately familiar with those towns. They're far too diverse for your liking.

Nothing so wrong, just nothing right. Maybe it's improved a ton since the 90s and 00s, but it being so central, I had to travel there a lot when I lived in the Midwest. Just an utterly forgettable place, but places can change a lot in 15 years, I suppose. I just have pretty dim memories of the place.

Someone told me Indy is as generic as it gets, ahead of Charlotte.

But no this is actually a job with some pretty serious decisions to make. Realignments is going to be crazy after 2024. And the money at stake is insane…. Emmett basically got forced I it nod the job.

With NIL and realignment this job has never been harder. Bad for college sports because under baker we’ll probably see the further bifurcation and financialization/professionalization. Of the college landscape at the expense of regional conferences and rivalries. SEC and BIG 10 might become their own thing.

This is a pretty heavy lift… honestly I’m surprised.

Yeah, they kept not dealing with things under Emmet. Always reactionary, and barely a reaction. NIL is the wild west all over again. It's going to have to be structured and that's going to be HARD. I agree, this is a pretty damn heavy lift.
