On Shore Dr at the south end of Wollaston Beach a bunch of cars are parked along the fence. The fence has a few signs noting that it's a private park, but doesn't have any explicit parking restrictions.

Can I park there without the threat of getting a ticket or towed?

I could park in the lot at Caddy Memorial Park, but the sign says the gate closes at 9 pm Or I could park at the main lot half way down. But I want to be able to walk the length of the beach, maybe stop for a bite to eat, and take my time walking back.

Isn't that section of Wollaston beach a special little place that's associated with the Merrymount neighborhood? That means you will need to be a resident of that neighborhood to use that section of the beach and to park at that lot, I would assume. I remember when we were looking for a house in Quincy and saw a few in Merrymount, the sellers noted that section of the beach as a private area for residents of the neighborhood.

That section of the beach is clearly marked private. But it's not really a "lot", it's just parking on the street next to the fenced off area.

If you're planning to park so you can walk the length of the beach, I'd toss out the idea of parking anywhere along the beach where parking is free and without restrictions. I think you're overcomplicating this.

Back when I walked the beach I parked at the Black's Creek lot (aka Caddy Memorial). That or its sister lot would be your best bet. They're also easier to get in/out of than the angle parking by the sea wall.
