My fiancee and I are having a hard time finding a one-month rental for February on Maui so we can get married and stay a while. Usually when we find them online they are grabbed by people already living on the island. It seems it is hard to secure something from the mainland. We are looking for a studio or ohana but we are not picky, if someone has a spare room in a house that can also work. We have the cash to pay for the month and even the deposit. Can anyone give me any suggestions or ideas? It's kind of time-sensitive because my girlfriend is from China and she has to organize things for her parents visa to the states and we're trying to lock down some dates.

Bello Realty in Kihei does vacation rentals, and yea regular house rentals will be harder, since the landlord would get taxed taxed extra since the duration is under 6 months.

As for Banana Bungalow, make sure to read the more recent online reviews first. Look carefully at any drawbacks mentioned, and see if those would be a concern for you or not. And Happy Valley is ..... not the best of neighborhoods.
