I am just *stunned* by this. I don't doubt your findings, but when we were looking at houses, we looked at over 30, and only one (the one we bought) was unfurnished. I wonder if more people are selling furnishings to get extra cash? Things are really not great economically, and every dollar may count. Still it's WAY harder to get rid of things here, than to accumulate them. IMHO, of course.

Best of luck.

I am surprised as well. A quick search of Craig's List for rentals with 2+ bedrooms and keywords Kihei furnished shows a lot of listings. 46 on the first page, with 26 under $1500/month.

There has to be some other factor not yet explained as to why none of those will work for you, or why you are being turned down.

Default Other than that...

Aloha Mangococonut.
Other than the furnishings issue, how do you like Maui? Have you found areas that appeal to you more than others? Have you been 'UpCountry'?

Hi Koale !! I love Maui - I figure we will settle for now in Kihei just get to see more of the island as a base point. I like Kahului alot, with everything right there too. I did drive to Kula - wow ! Beautiful place, one day think I would like to live there. Whereabouts on the island are you ?

I love Kihei. I'd live there if my job wasn't in Wailuku. Kahului is more of a commercial and industrial area it seems.

If you like the beach Kihei and Lahaina are the best options. If you don't like the beach... well then why move to Hawaii?
