You obviously have a case of TDS. Both sides of the media spew garbage and that is what I'm tired of. Why do I have go look up issues online and see what's being said in foreign news to gather up a best bet of what I hope will be the real facts?
The only option I didn't post up was a 3rd for things to continue as they are, because I think it's complete crap on both sides. I'm a walkway Dem btw, but the Dem party has gone off the rails to the extreme left and I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole now. Why do you have to go look up issues online? Because you don't have good news sources to begin with.
I think we should give ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox a choice. Lose your local broadcast licenses or disperse out of New York. That is one of our biggest problems, the incestuous nature of the media. They need to be in different parts of the country, not all in the same place.

Hm. Today on NBC Nightly News I saw reporters in California, Pennsylvania, DC, South Dakota, and Colorado, and Lester Holt was reporting from Las Vegas. Tomorrow Holt will be in Wisconsin.
None of those places are in New York.
Now that I think about it, the only report from New York was Al Roker, reporting on the hurricane heading into the Gulf of Mexico. Kinda no point in him reporting from the scene, since landfall is still a couple days away.
Nevermind that we're still in the grips of a pandemic. There are safer ways to gather the news if possible.
As for "broadcast licenses", you are in error about how licensing works. It is the individual local affiliates that are granted licenses to broadcast using the airwaves. Networks do not broadcast programming; they distribute programming to the local affiliates for broadcast. Networks do not have "local broadcast licenses" because they do not broadcast.
There are network-owned local stations, so in those instances the networks do hold licenses for those individual local affiliates, but network O&O stations are not the majority.
I agree that most of the media is biased tabloid trash. But the last thing we want is to give the government control over it.
The media is biased, even Fox, but not as much. But censorship is too much, that is Anti-American. I view many sources, you can find the truth, but you have to look for it. I have an advantage over the young, I saw what happened, so I know when people lie.
The other evening I was talking to a friend who mentioned the looters, burning and policemen injured in Philadelphia. I had listened to the news with no mention of this. Spoke to a few friends last evening who were totally unaware of this. Fox carried it as I found out, but the bias media stations, ABC, NBC. MSNBC, CNN reported nothing of this. I truly feel the media is the real reason this country is divided. They report what they determine Americans should know and therefore think. The mainstream media is owned by rich, wealthy Democrats who control the global markets and therefore will control us.

There really shouldn't have to be any regulation on the media. It would be almost impossible to enforce it. Once upon a time the media was fair, or at least unbiased, and we didn't have the likes of Google, Facebook, and Twitter run by the far left and burying every story they don't like.
Their sole mission now is to trash the president, and cover for the candidate they want. There are no positive stories, like the huge gain in the GDP, or the peace talks in the Middle East, or anything that would shed a positive light. They ignore the huge scandal of influence peddling and downplay the riots, and act like right wing militias are planning some kind of coup while looking the other way on the coup they themselves were behind.
The media today, along with the left, wants to control free speech and it's happening now. Soon it will be no different than in any other communist country and democracy will cease to exist under the leftist liberal regime.
You can be as biased as you want, but we can all choose not to watch. There are many mainstream news channels I won't watch. I know where to get my news.
What bothers me is Twitter and other social media removing posts or deleting accts because they don't agree and don't want your posts to show up. I believe in the freedom of speech. What Twitter has done should upset a lot of people.
This is election manipulation and cheating. It's just not right. Evidently no one has much confidence in Biden and that is understandable but don't cheat.
After Trump wins again I hope a real crackdown on these liars pretending to be real news occurs. I favor public beatings and let THESE real events be shown on tv ....
Exactly! When Trump wins, he needs to enact new laws to prevent these garbage news channels from pulling this or pull their license.
