We'll be relocating to Memphis this summer, and I'm looking for a preschool for my four year old to begin in the fall. Does anyone have any specific feedback on the following preschools in Midtown or have other suggestions:

First Class Montesorri
Evergreen Montesorri
Idlewild Presbyterian Kindergarten
Immaculate Conception

Any others that I haven't considered?

Also, does anyone know how competitive/difficult it is to enroll a child in a preschool in Memphis? We already went through a year of searching/applying here in San Antonio for this fall, so we're starting over now. I'm concerned that it's giong to be too late to get my son in a program and I hate for him to miss a pre-K program next year.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I have heard good things about Idlewild. That is where we may send our kids.

My nephew went to Trinity, and I heard good things about it.

Idlewild is very good. That's where my son went to first year kindergarten. Very nice, well-qualified staff.

We almost enrolled him in Evergreen Presbyterian's program, but it was a little more out of the way for us than Idlewild. However, we talked with many people from Evergreen and thought it would have also been an awesome choice.

One more place that's not on your list that you may want to visit is Lindenwood Christian Church. I know many folks who love their program.

Best wishes.

Thanks, everyone. We were in Memphis this past weekend and had the best time. We toured all over the city looking at neighborhoods, and I'm absolutely set on living in Midtown. What a beautiful area! It felt like home to me. We did a school visit at Grace-St Luke's and really liked the school. I'll check out the other options you mentioned during our next visit.

We're very excited about our move! Everyone we met was so friendly and the city wasn't nearly as scary as some of the city data'ers make it out to be!
