That area seems a little far to me for where I presume your husband will be stationed. The only military base I'm aware of in the area is in Millington so the drive from that area to Millington seems a little far to me. Admittedly, I haven't been around there in several years so maybe they punched a few roads through there to get to Millington that I'm not aware of? Perhaps you should think about Eads? It's a little more "country" but a lot closer to the base and there are some nice neighborhoods out that way. Also, the price of homes is a little cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know of any area around Eads/Arlington that are in the same price range as Countryside - which is just around the corner from Appling & Hwy 64/State Rd. It's actually not a bad drive from there to Millington. Take Appling/Brother Blvd/Appling north to Memphis-Arlington. Then take Memphis-Arlington/Centralia/Oak/Ellendale to Kirby-Whitten. Kirby-Whitten to Old Brownsville to Hwy 14 to Pleasant Ridge to Sledge to Navy Road. Sounds a lot more complicated than it is since a few of those streets change names a couple of times

I take that route from Cordova to Millington to play golf and it takes me about 30 minutes. From Countryside, you'd be 5-10 minutes closer depending on time of day...and you'd be going against the traffic flow most of the time.

He's actually in the Coast Guard and will be working on the Mississippi River. We are looking at some houses in Millington, though!

That area sounds good to me and I hope to soon live out there myself. If you have kids take them to Shelby Farms multiple action park.
