I went to Kroger on Lamar and Airways. Not a very nice part of town but it was on the way to were I was going and I had to pick some stuff up. I am with my 2 year old son. As I am exiting the car and about ready to unbuckle my son, I hear a lady scream. I look around but I can't see who it is. I get my son out of the car and I hear her again yelling for help. The scream comes from just a few yards away and I see an older lady laying on the ground next to her car. A man had run up to her and pushed her down on the ground, taken her purse and ran off. Several people saw him do it. I never saw him do it but I do remember seeing a man of the right description in the parking lot seconds before the incident. He was walking around as he was looking for something.
What really bothers me here is the age of the woman. She was somewhat disabled and she was in her mid 70th. I was parked 3 cars away from her. It could have been me and my son. It is just so sickening.

Very sad to hear. That is a terrible area of town, I would recommend never going to a store around there, no matter if it is on your way or not. Safety is more important than time.
