I've noticed a large pavilion in Overton Park near the playground on Parkway & Sam Cooper. Does anyone know if there is a fee to reserve some picnic tables in the pavilion or is it just first come/first serve? I googled it and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Are you referring to the outdoor concert shell at Overton Park? It's called Levitt Shell. Here's its web site:

Levitt Shell

Here's the link to City of Memphis Park Services which has more info on Overton Park and phone numbers:

Nope, not the shell. If you turn left onto Parkway from Sam Cooper, it's on your right side immediately after that. It's a big pavilion covered with picnic tables and I think it has a couple grills. Then a little ways to the left of that is a big playground. But that Park Services link might help. Thanks!

Ooh yes, that link did help! From there I found another link which gave me this info:
Rental of Parks

Picnic tables and general use of space are available on a first-come, first-served basis; however, if a reservation is desired, for a small fee, city parks can be reserved for small events such a picnics, parties and family reunions. In addition, public, private and non-profit entities are allowed to rent larger areas of the parks for special events.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, now I know which place you're talking about. It's behind that fire station in East Parkway if I remember correctly. Anyway, I'm glad the link helped! Good luck!
