My son is attending a workshop there and needs a place to stay for the night. It's on S Cooper between Central and Southern Avenues. Any ideas? Price is less of a consideration than safety.

Thanks!

The University of Memphis has its own Holiday Inn and it is open to the public as well as used as an educational tool for some of the folks who have a major in Hospitality or something or other

I reckon that would be a safe hotel because the UofM has its own on campus police and whatnot.

It is located on Central. I am not really knowledgeable about that area of Memphis by any means at all, but I think that Central and Southern are not that far away?

Here is their web site from google...

Completely off the topic of hotels - can you give a report on the workshop? I have a 14 year old cousin who is a drummer and personal friends with drummer Zoltan Chaney (youtube him).

The Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis. Enough said. Tell him to hit up Central BBQ while he's out there. He can take it back to his room. I recommend the bbq nachos or a slab of 'wet' ribs to go. Order at the counter.

Agree, the Holiday Inn at UM. It's the closest,, and most definitely the safest.

Thanks, everybody! Turned out he wasn't able to go after all, but will certainly go at some point for an event. Good to know where to stay. I appreciate it.
