What would you recommend for a child who has Asperger's and has been inpatient twice?
My husband is active duty in the Army and I'm trying to find a decent Army base to be stationed at.
First time was Fort Riley in Kansas and the inpatient experience we had in Topeka was awful. He regressed after being there, and essentially it was nothing but an overpaid babysitter. I was NOT a happy momma.
Second was at Peachford in Atlanta and I was very happy with the treatment we received there.
We are now in Columbia, SC and if needed I will be driving us back to Peachford. However we are due to move in a year and I'd like to know of some good quality hospitals across the nation that I can start looking for us to be stationed nearby.
My suggestion would be, since you don't know where you are going, to google on something like best mental health facilities in the US. Maybe a mental health expert will come along and offer more than I can, but that is where I would start.
Unless money isn't a factor, I would recommend contacting your health insurance provider and seeing which facilities are covered by your plan.
