Umm, yuck. I wasn't attracted to adolescents even when I was one... unless they were my age and looked older.
I don't believe that pedophilia qualifies as insane behavior. If it were, then it would mean that they are not responsible for their behavior and that they don't know the difference between right and wrong.
but, the attraction to a child by itself is so far from the norm, no sane person could be interested.
It only appears insane to Americans who are brought up in a different type of culture and moral beliefs than other countries
In the USA many states allow marriage at the age of 16

Pedophiles (as correctly defined as: persons with a persistent, pathological sexual attraction to prepubescent children) are suffering from a mental illness and, as I said, deserve pity rather than contempt. But no, in legal terms they are not insane. "Crazy" is an imprecise term, so I can't speak to that.
