Hello, I am struggling with Anorexia recovery. I'm a 56 yo Woman, and have had this issue on/off for 30 years. I'm going to Therapy and have support there, but I was wondering of there is such a thing as a Recovery Coach, or Sponsor as in AA? I need accountability to do the right thing consistently. It's embarrassing, but I can't seem to sustain the positive steps, and small goals I achieve. Am good for a few days, then lapse into my old ways. Any ideas or tips on what has worked for you or someone you know? Thank you.

The lack of a true Aftercare support program like NA and AA for eating disorders is one of the biggest barriers to sustained and lasting recovery.

That being said, there are options, wanting help and accountability is key.

The best source is the National Eating Disorder Association website. I'm not sure where you live, have you ever gone to eating disorder specific group therapy?

I'd start here, and I could probably get more details if I had a bit more info.

Thanks for your response. I guess I'm looking for a 'Sponsor' like in AA, that's where I got the idea of a 'Recovery Coach'. I am getting weekly support, but would like more personal accountability. I live near St. Paul, MN. Yes, there is lot's of info on those websites; worksheets etc...
