True. Since she is Mexican, the US Embassy can't do anything for her. I was told that the US Embassy doesn't do much anyway except check on the person and give them a list of Mexican lawyers who speak English. If one has dual nationality it works like this...when you're in Mexico, you are Mexican and when you're in the USA you are North American.

I went to the US Embassy here in Mexico City about two months ago asking what happens if I become a naturalized Mexican, and the above is what they told me based on what I was asking them. I believe the judge in this case has to make a decision by tomorrow (Friday).

Whole different ballgame if she is Mexican and explains why they were quick to arrest her and wouldn't have been so quick if she was a foreigner.

Most people don't realize that if they are a dual citizen, when they cross the border they are a citizen of the country they entered so she cannot call the American Embassy in Mexico and in the U.S. she cannot call the Mexican Embassy for help.

The US Embassy told me the same thing. They said if I become a nationalized Mexican and get into any trouble, it would hamper what the Embassy could do to help me. See...this is why one should FLY in and out of Mexico.

I think it is more because she is Mexican. If she had been a born U.S. citizen, I doubt she would have been arrested. It looks like someone knew about the drugs and needed a scape goat and she was chosen.

They have uncovered a video made by the bus company showing the couple boarding the bus and what they were carrying proving they were not carrying anything similar to the drug packages. They showed the tape to the judge. A man seated behind her did leave as soon as she was questioned and they think he was the smuggler.

Her attorney expects her to be quickly released.

True, but that's not why. Mexico is a democratic republic, just like the USA, and the government is chosen by the people in free and fair elections.

Bella Donna one of my past favorite porn stars, who has herpes now, was raised Mormon.

Belladonna (actress) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At any rate... there are innocent people that get arrested, charged, and sent to prison in the United States all the time. A guy in Milwaukee released from prison on DNA evidence is suing the City of Milwaukee. A guy that was eventually arrested for being a serial killer was charged with the murder of the woman the innocent guy was sent to prison for.

I haven't followed this story much but I do know police around the world receive tips and will search and arrest people in part based on tips. Sometimes, and the Nigerian Crime Circle is famous for this, the organized crime group will be the one making the call to the police so a larger package can pass through.

But police are human too. Some are corrupt, some might act incompetent in an incident, some may be diligent but just mislead.

Had a news article ran stating Mexican officials were tipped a Mormon woman was about to smuggle drugs into the U.S. and they did not act on the tip, people on here would be accusing Mexico of not doing any thing to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the USofA and paying zero price in the "War and Drugs."

The fact is, Mexico has paid an enormous price in the War on Drugs, and many of those Mexican Marines that have battled and arrested Cartel members have more nuts on them than any of their armchair critics. And being a Mexican cop going against the Cartels takes a level of courage I'll never know.

The Cartels do not just kill whoever arrested one of them, they kill the person's whole family. One marine who was honored by President Calderon for arresting the head of a Cartel, was honored without wearing a mask and his name was given. The marine found his whole family, wife, kids, parents, siblings, everybody, slaughtered. It is terrorism with the cartels and these troops go in fighting the cartels with less armaments than our soldiers who fight terrorist in Afghanistan. Our soldiers don't have to worry about what the terrorists will do to their families.

Everybody would throw a fit if the police didn't arrest a Mexican citizen in the U.S. whose seat was full of drugs. If the U.S. police let the Mexican go and said, "You look innocent to us," the cops would be fired.

It's sad that she went through this but evidence proved she was innocent and she was immediately released. I don't see how there was anything corrupt in it.
