Hey guys,

i have booked a room for 4th of July weekend, but i recently heard that the hotel had a fire and im not sure if its up an running again. Ive called the 3 phone numbers listed and none of them work. Also the email they have on the website doesn't seem to be active. I live in Los Angeles and im trying to find out if Ticuan will be open next month. The fire i heard was in Dec 2014 and there was major damage to the building.

can anyone confirm if this hotel is going to be open or closed? Or any info would be great. I need to know if i should cancel my reservations and book another hotel.

Thanks

Not sure if you paid any money up front as it would be the main thing.

In Mexico they want some money as a deposit or paid in full otherwise you do not exist.

I found out the latter decades ago when I wrote a Hotel in Mexico City for a room and on my arrival they never heard of me. Parking lot was not that full but was told they had NO Vacancy.....learned my lesson.

Mexico is NOT the US. No phone service or Internet since both work here with Telnor the main Phone Company.

I can confirm the building is still there as it is one of the taller ones in Zona Centro, but not sure if it is up and running at normal capacity. The fire was back in December so they've had a few months to clean up.

Also, the website appears to be working just fine.

They are taking bookings for 4th of July (2 nights)
$2,900 HABITACION SENCILLA UNA CAMA KING SIZE
$3,000 HABITACION DOBLE DOS CAMAS MATRIMONIALES
$3,100 SUITE EMPRESARIAL UNA CAMA KING C/ESCRITORIO VISTA INTERIOR
$4,000 MASTER SUITE UNA CAMA KING SIZE CON JACUZZI

As an alternative a short taxi ride from old downtown (about 1.5 miles from Ticuan). Ask for a room in the back as they are quieter
$2,284 ESTANDAR DOS CAMAS MATRIMONIAL (4th of July weekend)
HOTEL HACIENDA DEL RIO
Do not confuse with Hotel Hacienda del Mar which is on the beach

14.25 Pesos =$1 USD (this is a low exchange and will vary depending on what day or where you are)

2,284 Pesos.....$160 USD
2,900 Pesos.....$203 USD
4,000 Pesos.....$280 USD

Thought this might help somebody.
