Im looking to move from San Diego to Mexico City within 6 months. I will be able to work remotely.

I have experience living in Libertad and Playas in Tijuana.

What neighborhoods are recommended in CDMX? I dont need to be in Condesa or Polanco, a middle class area is fine with me.

I am looking to spend $250-500 USD on rent.
I would like Metro access.
Decent street food and cheaper restaurants.
Easy access to Sorina Hiber or Walmart.
Relative safety.

I stayed in Montezuma recently by the airport and enjoyed the area.
Thanks for your help.

That price range requires on the ground work. No way around it, go down and book an Airbnb for a week or two and hit it walking around and seeing what you like or better what you will tolerate. That budget is only enough for some areas that may have issues such as rough areas or not as ideal metro access. Once you have the areas down go walk or ask around about vacancies.

That amount for rent is unrealistic even in cheaper neighborhoods inside city limits with good metro access and relative safety (like say, Portales or Coapa). I think you'll need to check Segundamano for listings and visit the city to see how you like around the places with apartments on that range.

I have been looking at AirBNB and may increase the budget to $700ish. Plenty of nice places in that range.

Are all these listings fake? I limited rent to being between $6000 to $9000 (presumably pesos per month)

Thanks! Some are in dollars, but many in pesos.

I know that in the U.S. a lot of listings are fake (especially ones that seem too good to be true). No idea about these ones.
