Do you believe that hard core "corridos" now days are a bad influence in our society and the root of all the narco violence?

For those of you that dont know what a "corrido" is, it is a song that tells a story, usually some violence involved. Although, violence is not a requirement, to classify as a corrido but it seems that the fad now is narco violence.

Here are a few examples:

YouTube - Antonio Aguilar..."EL CABALLO BLANCO"...

YouTube - Dueto America-El corrido de los Perez

No, i dont think that a song is directly linked....is as you say that videogames are the root of actual violence, not sense at all...

I don't think music like those examples have anything to do with it.

I think when people talk about the popular (very) music promoting and glorifying the narco-culture they mean songs more like these:

YouTube - La Banda del carro rojo-Los Tigres Del Norte

YouTube - SE ESCAPO EL CHAPO GUZMAN

YouTube - los tucanes de tijuana el chapo guzman

YouTube - A mis enemigos-Valentin Elizalde

YouTube - los tigres del norte - contrabando y traicion

YouTube - Jefe de Jefes - Tigres del Norte

YouTube - LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE - LA REYNA DEL SUR

YouTube - EL CHAPO GUZMAN

YouTube - narco corridos - cartel del golfo tierra de los zetas ( video )

YouTube - Corrido a Osiel Cardenas Guillen

warning on this one:
YouTube - narco corridos - cartel del golfo tierra de los zetas ( video )

I believe these many songs do more than video games to glorify the drug cartels and promote the violence.

Malamute, the reason why I used those words as examples is because I wanted to show that corridos are a rich part of our culture and there is no need to buy into the whole narco thing.

I have to agree with you that it is the narco violence that is generating or at least an influence in the current crime rate. In the past people were into romantic music and if there was a narco you couldnt even tell. Now, there is a whole attire that identifies you as a narco. Even the kind of car you drive can identify someone as a narco. I have even heard of women that are encouraged to date narcos for financial security. These hard core corridos give a false sense of security safe wise and economically. It is pathetic and these singing groups keep defending the corridos by saying that they are the only ones endangering their lives.

And obviously "they" aren't just using corridos to promote and glorify the cartels and death and I believe this music is also about recruiting into the work of the crime organizations.

YouTube - Cartel de Santa - Sangre Por Sangre (BABO REGRESA)

YouTube - Cartel De Santa - Santa Muerte

YouTube - Cartel de Santa-Mexico Lindo Y Bandido

They twist patriotism to their country into gang violence.

Just like music in the USA that promotes death and violence, crime culture. The famous Tupac who ended up a victim of the violent gang life he promoted.

YouTube - Tupac - Hit Em Up(Uncensored)

Like you said the old corridos also had "some" violent themes but it wasn't anything what is promoted today.

There's "some" violence in songs like this -- but it's just a good old-fashioned brawl, no one gets killed.

YouTube - Toby Keith - As Good As I Once Was

Or like this one is a story that ended with violence but it doesn't seem to actually promote violence and blood shed, doesn't really glorify it.

YouTube - Vicente Fernandez - El Tahur
