yep I was surprised the news didnt do there home depot/publix aid type of coverage. Where there is a hurricane coming and everyone needs to go and buy stuff.

Anyway those upper level winds were too much and that dry area of high pressure is ripping the thing up. Probably wont even be a depression just a wave so a few rainy days ahead.

This storm appears to be a big rainmaker and not develop into a trop storm or worse.

Yet for those of us who live down here, and looking at the calendar it is a stark reminder that it is time to put the National Hurricane Centers web site on you computers favorite sites.

This is the time of the year where anxiety levels skyrocket down here----make sure you take any prescribed blood pressure meds.

The models for storms hitting this year have everybody on edge----another major strike or two in South Florida will make homeowners insurance an impossibility to purchase.

The system looks a little better organized. They say(Hurricane Center) it will be a depression soon, and possibly a named storm tomorrow.

Hi. Talking bout Hurricanes... does anybody have a recommendation on a good window company. I want to replace my windows with impact resistant. For now I had an estimate from Ready Windows, but I would like to have more estimates. I am lost in the huge number of companies in Miami Dade. Thanks. Mau

I think it will hit as a moderate TS. Too early and too close to land to develop into a monster. but thats my personal prediction and take it with a grain of salt.
Ill just say that if it was forming near Louisiana, I wouldnt be too concerned.

Much better developed than what they were anticipating yesterday. Goes to show that we still have quite a ways to go to be able to truly predict these things. Should be a TS with winds in the 50-60 mph range I'm thinking if it keeps developing the way it is. The only way I see it really strengthening inot a possible hurricane is if it slows its path or stalls out.

Also, they have lowered the path to somewhere in the keys.

But still very unpredictable so everyone take proper precautions.

It is now a depression. Could become "Bonnie" by late today or early tomorrow.

I just saw on the news that it is officially Tropical Storm Bonnie. That shouldn't be of much worry to Miami though because it's just thunderstorms not an actual hurricane. Plus it is barely scraping the southwestern edge of Florida. Poor Louisiana though, that thing is headed right for New Orleans. It might help with the oil in the Gulf though.

The path of this system is quite typical.

Direct hits on mainland Florida are relatively rare and 2004-2005 may prove to be a once-in-a-century fluke.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be prepared for one, however, it could happen at any time, and I am glad that I live in a newer building, up to the latest Miami-Dade code.

Good Luck!
