god i love that, i know you see it all the time. as for the 2009 question, you do know that in florida you are given a new tag every five years. so they won't have that tag next year. Under Florida Statute 320.06 (1b), license plates bearing a graphic symbol and the alpha-numeric system of identification shall be issued for a 5-year period. The fee for such a replacement shall be $10, $2 of which shall be paid each year before the plate is replaced, to be credited towards the next $10 replacement fee. Mainly, this is mandatory because the reflective paint wears, thus reducing night visibility.

I wish these people would get a ticket for placing the registration stickers all over the place. What an idiot. And you see it all the time. I'm still wondering why it's done in the first place. I just stay far, far away from that driver. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

Yep, new plate including new reg number every five years in FL. Seems like a waste of resources, but I guess they have their reasons.

I have seen this a lot in FL, and a little bit up in NC as well (but considering the number of FL plates I've been seeing up here lately, not surprising). One of my theories as to why people do it (I have to find some kind of justification for this idiocy) is perhaps they are perpetually late renewing their registration, so they do this to confuse the cops?? Maybe? I guess we're lucky that they even have a current tag, eh? Or that they have a tag at all (seen lots of vehicles driving around without tags in Miami - they're the same ones that drive without lights in heavy rainstorms).

moderator removed the picture
they wanted me to blur the letters on the plate but i think that would be pretty much impossible as the shot is a close up
if you want to see it again a direct link is here
