My boyfriend and I are considering moving to surfside. Is this a good area for too 20-somethings? Is rent reasonable? Also, what kind of commute am I facing to get to brickell?

Surfside is a very nice, but if you are 20 somethings you may want to be closer to South Beach.

Surfside has an older population, but is a very good place to live. Prices are SO reasonable for being so close to the beach... it's like a hidden gem right out in front of everyone's nose.

If you're looking for a quiet life with restaurants and food shopping close by, it will be a dream. If you're more into ragers and partying until 6 AM, you'll be best off in Miami Beach.

As for the rent, I haven't looked.

I would say you're looking at 45 minutes to an hour to get to Brickell, depending on what time you go. If you're going during rush house, you might find it easier to go down Miami Ave as opposed to 95 if traffic is really bad.

I really like Surfside and it is really one of the true diverse places in Dade County as you have a large Jewish community from the northeast , a large Russian community , and many people from Brazil and Argentina it is not too bad a commute to Brickell and as another poster mentioned a hidden gem .
