Man, you are sooo wrong! Lou Diamond Phillips isn't even MEXICAN!!! You're stereotypic Indio-Mexican is an American Navy brat and product of a marriage of a white sailor and a Phillipina woman. Born at Subic, Luzon I.

I never claimed he was Mexican - what I said was he is the image I get when I imagine a Mexican - I thought I was clear on that but if not - this is the clarification!

Okay guys - thank you for digging into the background of Lou - what he is and what one could think he looks are 2 different things - now if i'm not mistaken, he has been in a few movies where he played a mexican and dammit if I don't think he played and looked the part. Would it have worked better for you all if I had said Edward James Olmos? I thought I was pretty clear in my analogies but I guess not.

HUHHH, Yes he is black.

Oh, in Argentina the word morocho means brunette. Mel Gibson is a morocho for example, that doesn't mean he is black.

Yes - that is what it means technically but after being with an Argentinean for 17 years I know that isn't what they really mean when they say it -

And you really think Johan is black - well if he is black then what is David Ortiz?

For Colombians morocho is black too, not brunette. It's rather an offensive term.

Chelsa the Colombian region you were referring to is the Atlantic coast( Barranquilla, Cartagena). They speak faster and tend to skip the "s" sounds just like the other caribbean nations(Cuba, PR DR) Shakira, Sofia vergara, Garcia Marquez and Carlos Vives are all from that region.
