I wonder how the food will change at BK, or if it will with the new management team. I had a burger there today, with onion rings...I think that they need to change the menu, to stay competitive. The only reason I went there, is that there is a dearth of places to eat where I was today..BK or Popeyes...that is about it. Hmmm.. Brazillian food?

At least those people got a decent severance package, 6 months is pretty awesome these days! Most places give you a month or less severance pay.

Honestly not sure if this is due to the economy or the new ownership having a differing view of efficiency.

I know...but you may be on to something. If we as a whole stopped spending so much money on eating out, the companies wouldn't overstaurate the market with their stores, which in turn would hurt them less. I know it sounds crazy. But where supply meets demand, they would have never had to cut back, spend so much money on wasted product, and so many people wouldn't have lost their jobs.

I say this because I worked to a company that only had three stores in existence, and they tried to expand, and the fourth store wasn't doing so well. But we had to cut hours and such just to keep that one running. In the end, they closed it down, and we went back to normal....after a few months.

Too bad. Miami really doesn't need to lose any more jobs...

Like others have said, I wonder if it's a direct response to the economy or whether it's motivated by the change in ownership. Either way, I've been pretty disappointed by everything new to come out of BK. It's hard to be successful as a fast food joint when your original burger and its little brother are the only offering that's worth eating.

I have no idea what the Chik fil e, or however it's spelled, is either except that there are a lot of cows promoting it (billboards).

Dirty rice at Popeye's?

I'd say you probably haven't really had the Popeye's experience until you've gone to Popeye's in Newark, NJ. There's a fried chicken place every other block there, so only the real diehards are at Popeye's. Also, I've never felt so much a minority in my entire life.
