Forgot all about it and they flew right over us today. Wish they'd use natural insecticides.

Valicky: Did the stuff actually land on your skin? How low were these planes flying?

Cixcell: Were you watching the movie from home, or from a theater? Could you smell the stuff from indoors or something? Was anyone having ill effects?

But when you say it was getting unbearable, was that what drove you to go to the Dolphin Mall, and how was it unbearable? Also does anyone you know have ill effects after they spray, like heart palpitations or whatever?

the mosquitos were getting unbearable
you make it seem like this was some big event. nothing of the sort. just glad they sprayed. we killed six mosquitos in the car on the way to work one morning. got bit multiple times each night in our house. we were actually starting to get accustomed to being bit.

I didn't realize you were referring to the mosquitos when you said it was getting unbearable. I thought you were saying that the spraying itself was getting unbearable. If I'm making a big thing of it, it's only because these are the cues I've been given. Also, I have a heart condition which makes that kind of thing (exposure to Cholinergic chemicals) a major concern, so that's why I wanted to know if anyone has ill effects after the sprayings. I also imagined that the quantities would be larger since they were using C-130's.

i dont believe its a very strong concentration but then people dont really scream and shout about health problems here unless its a cancer cluster like at the acreage up by west palm.
i wouldnt drink well water out in the redlands though. plenty of fungicide/pesticide/herbacide/fertilizer in that water. i make my own RO water but i still wonder about how it must become aerosol when they run the sprinklers on well water. oh well nothing you can do about that.
its probably just C130s because they worked out some cheaper deal with the base or something.

I didn't feel anything but it flew directly overhead. I thought the plane was going to crash it was so low and then I remembered it was the mosquito plane. I have heart issues as well and my daughter has endocrine issues so we try to stay away from all pesticides. There are always natural ways including sprays they could use but they don't. I guess cheaper is better even though this spraying is just extremely temporary. I think in the long run, this pesticide is a very shortsighted solution.

you havent noticed that most things here are shortsighted? lol
a program to raise and release dragonflies or something might work but i cant see dade county taking on anything as complex, coordinated and scientific as that. they do that stuff in hawaii routinely but that requires an efficient well-funded city and all the city and county budgets at this point are barely making ends meet. south florida water management doesnt even work right.
