Here is a link to a recent Miami Herald article about the proposed zoning change on the SE corner of Miller Dr. and 127 Ave. West Kendall Council rejects shopping center in Horse Country - West Kendall - MiamiHerald.com I hope the County Commissioners agree with the Community Council and vote against this zoning change. The zoning change if approved on that parcel will pave the way to other zoning changes in the area and before you know it Horse Country will cease to exist. Do you really think we need another shopping center and with a CVS or Walgreens on its outparcel.

This is great news. They really don't need another strip mall in that area.

That's a very nice and secluded neighborhood, some streets in it look like they're not even part of Miami-Dade. I hope it stays like that.

My worry is that Carlos C. Lopez-Cantera Sr. will get his way sooner or later through political influence and by being the father of the Property Appraiser-elect Carlos Lopez-Cantera. The Community Council voting against the zoning change is great news but it does not mark the end to this battle. This issue will be going in front of the County Commission at the end of the month. Miguel A. Diaz and Patricia S. Davis, the Community Council members that voted in favor of this zoning change must be voted out of office in the next election. They definitely do not represent their constituents.

Yes, and most have space available for rent, so it seems there is more of a supply than there is a demand.

We don't need another CVS or Walgreens...they are practically already in every corner.

The developer has dropped the plans of building a shopping center in Horse Country. Here is a link to the article. Developer drops plans for Horse Country shopping center - West Kendall - MiamiHerald.com I wonder if he is going to propose a different project or revise the one he previously proposed. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Guys, that meeting was only a CDMP, which means its only a meeting that doesn't represent anything. It still has to come back to the board. Actually those two people you mentioned are one of the Earthliest people you can ever meet. Mrs. Davis is a SUPER GREEN, woman and she truly cares about people. Mr. Diaz, is not as radical as Patricia, but my family and myself have seen him and a crew of people picking up trash on the street. So they care. Their job is not to be emotional and do whats right. Everyone else that voted for, acted very emotional and thats not right either.
