Hi,
Can anyone give me some info on Aventura? Is it a good place to raise a family?? Does anyone know of an area (such as Brickell) where there are lots of high rises yet lots of families? Thanksss

Try Key Biscayne.

Lots of high rises with families? Aventura ABSOLUTELY fits this standard. So does Sunny Isles Beach.

Yes, definitely; if you prefer areas with high-rises. Key Biscayne is good if you're fine with doing lots of things (shopping/etc.) in central Miami (Downtown/Coral Way/nearby areas). Otherwise I'd just recommend Davie and Weston, which aren't that far from Aventura and are simply safer and better overall.

Plenty of families with children up here in Aventura, even more so in Sunny Isles. We are even debating whether to build our own high school. Aventura and Sunny Isles are much more reasonably priced and centrally located than Key Biscayne.

Interesting to read that.

Everywhere I explored in South Florida, I just liked the highrises much better than the suburban sprawl of Broward, etc.

Good to know that families and highrises are not mutually exclusive!

There are also quite a few townhouses in Aventura. They're in gated communities, which I'm not very fond of, but most of them do have multiple pedestrian gates.

I'm so glad to hear that there are families in these hi rise areas. I was originally looking for a suburban setting with a house & pool, but have since been turned off by the idea in miami. Mainly bc it's so far out in the middle of no where & the areas look kind of desolate. Not a real sense of community out there. I don't know how to really pin point what I mean, but I just didn't like it! Some how I feel a well appointed apartment in a nice building would be just fine for our family. I just don't want us to be the only people with kids!! Hoping everyone is not just young professionals & retirees :/ Still have to investigate it further. The town houses in Avenutra seem like an even better idea! So I will be looking into those as well.

I like Aventura and Sunny Isles, everything is nearby. Also these areas look nicely maintained.

Hey JacobMax,

I find your post interesting because I am in the market for a house and somebody said that Davie's population is not the greatest (whatever that means).

What do you think of the Davie area, specifically on Stirling RD and S. University Drive?
