I am helping a buddy find a place to rent for 4 months approx. (June through OCtober). Budget is up to $1900 for a 3B/2bath. Furnished or unfurnished. Does any one have a suggestion? I thought about one of those extended stay hotels but he'd rather get an apartment or house.

I'm surprised you couldn't find anything on VRBO. Summer time is our slow season, so there has to be lots of place available.

You are probably looking at VRBO and thinking there is nothing there from looking at the listed prices. What you need to do is to email the homeowners of houses you are interested in with your proposal. You can definitely find something for that time, not sure about the 4 month thing but I was able to find several parties open to a deal on a one month (August) at the amount I offered (totally different than the listed prices, I just ignored those)
