I have been lurking here for over a year trying really hard to find out as much as we could before we purchased our new home. You guys really helped our family out so much I want to thank you all for the inputs.

I have also tried to do the same for other folks that are looking for advise and wonder would finally happen to them. So in that effort I will update my status and hope some other would do the same, in 1 month, 3 months and six.

It has been one month for us since we got our keys and so far we have replaced a electrical panel, termite tented and upgraded a room for income rental.

We are finally living here this week and we love our new home! Whispering pines is really a friendly nieghborhood, all our neighbors greet us every day we live right around whispering pines lake and there are tons of dog friendly folks and I love all the golf carts traveling around in the weekends. It is super quiet here and complete strangers just come up to us and say hello, wow we are super shocked! People kept to them self in westchester.

Our publix is very mixed (184th) but the folks there are super friendly and I don't sense anything gettho even though there are some areas west of us tht are not as nice.

The negatives so far:

What is up with the skeeters here! They are mean nasty bugs so planning on planting lemon grass and natural bug repentant plants.

It seems hotter or more humid here then our old house in Olympia heights. I am super wanting to plant more trees on the property, although palemetto bay and cutler bay have really lovely trees, no wonder it is called tree city!

Traffic! Ugh no matter what there is no easy way for us, Doral for me and Downtown for him. We take old cutler, 87, 82, 77, and turn pike all are about an hour commute . Anyone here knows if the US1 toll route will happen anytime soon? Seriously US1 traffic with construction is murder!

Well that is our one month update, will update at the three month mark.

Please feel free to update on your status if you want.

Glad you are settle in and thank you for the advice you have given to the other members its been great! The bugs, we'll your closer to the Mangroves, so there will be more mosquitos. They feed at sunrise and sunset, so just avoid being outside during those times. Otherwise wear long sleeves and pants along repellent and you should be fine. Mosquitos are also attracted to black, so wear other colors.
