With all the bytching you're doing about Miami, it sounds like you need to move out of there.

Most of the time I have almost hit a biker, he was riding on the sidewalk. And I also bike a lot so when driving I look out for bikers more than the general Miami driver.

I am still remembering the promises the county made in the 80's to put bicycle paths along canals and through power line right of ways. The best idea for cyclists is to have an expressway type bike highway cutting across the barriers that exist in this county. A bike way along railroads, in a protected strip near expressways, along major canals, and along power transmission routes. There would be a bridge over, or a tunnel under major roads and a continuous barrier to keep cars out, with only narrow passages to let cyclists go through. They did build a path when I was in elementary school along Miller Road, and one up 117 avenue to bird Road, but that was it. They needed one along snapper creek canal and along the 874 expressway to connect to Tropical Park and run to Miami Dade college. Especially I wish they would build one from homestead to the keys bike path. There is the busway path connecting to the metrorail path but it desperately needs bridges or small tunnels to bypass the congested roads. The bicyclist needs the advantage of hassle free riding to make it a real alternative to driving. At my last business I had a couple of employees who rode the bike to work, as an incentive to keep it up I had a shower installed on site so they could clean up for work which gave them exercise and saved money. Of course other employees saved more by telecommuting.

Some dissidents need to stay behind to report the bad news.

Don't rely on channel 7 only to get the bad news.
