Hi everyone. We will be having a lot of boxes to recycle and far more than can fit in the can that's picked up every two weeks.(don't understand the gap) Do you know if any of the government recycle places has a bin for cardboard boxes broken down? I looked it up but it didn't specify. TIA

Call the number. I don't want to give out old information, but the one out in Kendall used to take them if you were local (had to show ID within I think 3 zip codes). Depends on where you are.

Another option is to post on craigslist under the Free section, and people often will come take them for moves or storage.

If you have a yard, or know someone who does, you can also break them down a little and start a compost bin. Miami is very easy to compost in, because of the heat and rain. If composting is done right, it is easy, does NOT attract pests, and does NOT smell. If it is hard or makes a mess, you're doing it wrong. The vast majority of things a household throws away could much more easily and cheaply be composted, and then you'd always have great free soil to grow plants with, plus you'd never have to worry about shredding sensitive documents because decomposing them does a much more thorough job and it never leaves your yard!

Find one of the cardboard scavengers behind a shopping center, you can see him driving a beat up truck with a skyscraper of folded boxes in the truck bed.

I ended up going to the dump with them. The recycling bin is completely already full and because it's only picked up twice a month I didn't have any other option. We are selling a house that has been lived in for 40 years. I'm sure you can imagine what the removal of stuff is like
