Can the restaurant at the Country Club of Miami charge 8% sales tax. I questioned the legality and was told they have a permit for the 8%.
Here is the scenario. The new people that just took over the restaurant 8/1/2015 came from the Key Biscayne country club in Crandon Park and I assume they were charging the 8% sales tax.
I know the Miami Dade tax rate 7% and the prior restaurant people charged 7% for food, etc.

I know Miami Beach has a "luxury tax" on top of the County+State sales tax, and many tourist areas do this. But isn't the County Club "of Miami" in an unincorporated part of NW Dade?

If their permit was for Key Biscayne, and they don't have one for the new location, can they legally even operate at the new location?

Don't know.

Yea, one can pay 10-11% percent sales tax in Miami Beach. If you go to a restaurant , most of the time they will also add in a 15 % gratuity, so watch and make sure you don't tip twice
