"Shark fishing on South Beach Miami. The tourists would stay out of the water if they only knew how many sharks are cruising around in shallow water. Tight lines, Googan out."

Looks like a small one. I'm still much more afraid of man-of-war's. But that's probably because I was stung badly as a kid.

I swim with manowars.

As for a little shark, I have recently seen a woman get bitten on her upper leg by a small shak, size of a forearm. It looked like a dog bite, but not much blood. Just two semicircular lines of punctures.

Should have left his shirt on... for more than one reason.

I'm more afraid of Moray Eels than typical sharks (a big great white or tiger, different story). I've seen some large bull sharks and even a massive hammerhead while diving here. Wasn't that big of a deal. I've seen a Moray Eal tear apart a snorkelers arm, met up with him later and he had something like 90 stitches.

Back in the days when south beach was inhabited by Jewish seniors, there was a group of kids that fished sharks during all the night. They used wire the last 100 yards. It was one f the funniest things in Miami at that time as it was a constant chain joint smoking and a countless number of beers. Sharks don't usually attack in shallow sandy waters, except those small ones that are abondant in places like Pontevedra and are not really dangerous.

Moray, yes, vicious, but good to prepare a brew fr the rice. Barracudas also have a bad rep, but I haven't hear any attacks, meat is good and the ciguatera thing is more of a fairy tale.

Glad to see they at least released the shark back into the water.

Tourists are never "unsuspecting" though.

Think how much it costs to get into Disney World now or hop on a cruise !
Talk about "fleecing'!

A $15 Mojito on South Beach is by choice !
