The cost of living, maybe closer to the model of these businesses. From what I remember about the birthday celebrations at such place, it was because our parents, or friends' parents did not want to have it at the house, hell if we're going to behave like good hosts and pay for everything, hell if we're going to watch our kids while we get loaded, hell if we're going to let the kids go ballistic and break everything.

Some people need to convince themselves that Miami is the worst place on earth

I understand not liking it and/or moving away but this constant exaggerated bashing tells me the issue is not Miami but the people posting. Like I said, some people need to convince themselves that they have made the right decision by moving away or living in other cities. They come here and insult millions of people just to feel better about themselves.

To them everything is black and white. They lived in hell and now moved or are moving to paradise where everybody is nice and polite. Others have never lived in Miami but believe it must be hell because there are too many immigrants living there

I understand people wanting to live among people who look and think like them but why do you have to go to other boards and insult their residents? One thing is complaining about traffic, cost of living another thing is labeling every citizen as rude or third world. That says more about Those posters than the residents of those cities.

People criticize things they envy, cities and countries, they hate them because of their fame and glitz.

Take Canadians, they dedicate large parts of their freezing existence to show the world they are better, more "cool" and civilized that gun-ho Americans, while Americans barely talk about Canada....Canada? The home of snow chipmunks?

Take all those cities above southern Florida, for them Miami is just hell..and they use all their bible-thumping artillery..Sodoma and Gomorra, a cesspol, they find those outdated palabros in their comics nailed to the bench.

It happens the same with every famous city in the world.

Many of those bashers used to live in Dade, and as you say, they need to reaffirm that their decision to leave was the right one and that they are not living in some suburban hellhole in the middle of the everglades among turnpikes or in some place called ashlochberg near were Christ lost his tamagochi. Most really left because economic reasons, so they probably are living in places they don't like.
