Pinecrest! It's nicer, bigger yards, just as many big trees, and not so crowded.

Pinecrest! But the Gables east of US1 is really nice. I don't really care for the Gables west of US1.

I personally love Coral Gables just because it's historic and very appealing, but Pinecrest is just as beautiful.

I don't know which you would prefer. What do you prefer in a city?

If you prefer to live in a suburban community that features estate homes, larger lots, and a general feeling of more quiet and slow, Pinecrest is for you.

If you desire to live in a walkable, more urban city with smaller (and more expensive per square foot) homes that are more historic than new, and that is closer to Miami, then Coral Gables is for you.

As a young person, I prefer Coral Gables. Even if I had children I would probably still prefer it. However, Pinecrest is a beautiful community and it is generally thought to be one of the most exclusive suburban areas in Miami-Dade County.

Pinecrest is cool because it's a big forest with roads literally carved out of the trees... There is plant life in that area that you will not see anywhere else in Miami; it is Miami's unofficial rainforest, and the foliage there resembles the tropical plants that you would find in Cuba or South America, not in sub-tropical Florida. Also, both places have that relaxing feel which reminds me of the backdrop for the first four seasons of Nip/Tuck.
