We are about to close on the sale with a new builder and a few issues have come up.
1- we have noticed pools of water around the foundation of the house, without much rain in the last few days.
2- We noticed pools of water in the house a month or two ago and the issue was never resolved and our questions as to what it was were never answered.
3- the hud was off a great deal from the estimates we have been receiving for the last few months and we don't think we can afford the additional large down payment it is showing.

What can we do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

because of the ever increasing newer lender standards that seem to get more strict every week that passes, Yes...the HUD will differ. If you can't afford it, you can't afford it...that's that. It is not your fault things changed. You were given a good estimate and you planned everything based on that.

As far as the water around the foundation goes...it does not make much sense if it has not rained at all. My recommendation would be to contact a master home inspector and pay 250.00 to get a complete home inspection and maybe do a soil analysis as well. Don't close until you get this first ! Good luck !
