1980's Miami sources and books (rent, crime, hotels)

Hi folks I made a similar posting in the Florida forum, so here it is in a different version.



I'm an Anglo-Canadian with Asbergers who is a hopeful writer, but no very good Grammer. who wants to write a P.I series in 1980's Miami Cocaine Cowboy era.

Now I've have the original Cocaine Cowboys DVD, but I'm going to buy the reloaded version. I've read Hotel Scarface which inspired me about my first book Cocaine Hotel (working title).

It's about a Mutiny Girl who winds up dead, unlike a normal Mutiny Girl she didn't dope a good clean girl which given the Hotel at the time would be a miracle. Her Papa hires my P.I. to find out who killed her and why?.


Now what I need is books and sources, to write about 1980's Miami and Cocaine Cowboy era?.


More about my P.I. and his allies, The P.I is a American who fees are the most costly in USA, he is Polished and a former Vitenam Vet that's were he learned to fight and kill. But he isn't perfect he suffers from bouts of Bloody Memories and his hatred of Dope stems from his time in Vitenam, this P.I.'s values are Consertive that's in his fees he wouldn't take Blood Money, Dope or Dope Profits. He is an Honest Man to a fault.

His Two Friends/Allies are these people,

The First is a Female White American Punker who name is Anne, she is a precurser to that Famous Female Swedish Punker. She is streetwise, knows how to pick pockets and locks.

The Second is C.O. of the Miami Vice squad he acts as the P.I.'s Police contact on the force.

What I'm affraid that going to shine a light on some bad truths of the era of Miami and I'm going to upset some people.

people, things, knowledge as I did know someone like that; she had quite a thing going

Anne is a Punker a Bent Edge, she is a early member of the Straight Edge movement, that is a good idea for Anne but she also sometimes 20 Pounds underweight. And my main character who last name is Class it's why his P.I. Agency is call A Touch Of Class P.I.

According to Crime Writings books that I've check out real P.I. rent there Office space, I figured that a P.I. with skyhigh fees could afford to live in a Penthouse of a Miami Luxury Hotel.

I need at listing of 1980's Luxury Hotels which would be suitable for my P.I. to base out of,
