So I am in my early/mid 30's and recently single and relocating. I really like both areas but not sure what would fit best.

A little about myself. Like I mentioned mid/early 30's, straight, pretty decent shape and single but not exactly a night owl. All of my friends here are married with children so I'm kind of on my own here socially. My main goal is to move into an area where I can network and meet new friends and date. I don't mind spending my time with people in their later half of their 20's since thats probably where I fit best atm and I really don't see much/ if any of a difference between us. I love the beach because of the actual beach and bc it's very walkable and generaly like the vibe (I'm almost exclusively there during the daytime). My main concern is that I might mainly find people who like to club or go out late. I'm looking for an area that has a community vibe with young professionals. Also, I'm not interested in DT Miami and Brickell is a little to clicky and cold for me. What do you guys think? What are do you think would best suit me.

Grove, hands down. Already in your 30s and looking to make real friends. If you were in your 20s and looking to live the life, than def South Beach. But now, time to move over to the grove. Rentals are similar in size & budget too (if not a little more in the grove)

Good luck!

I am in the same boat, except mid-late 20's, and the off-standish vibe I keep hearing about from Brickell is the only thing keeping me away from that area as well.

From what I hear from my single friends, dating is now basically swiping women on tinder for hours and hoping one or two women write back. It's kind of a sad reality for young singles. It's dangerous to date women at work with the metoo era and HR. If you strike up conversations with women randomly they tend to think you are an insane stalker or creep. Bars are filled with gold diggers and other problem types. Thank god I'm married.

Yeah you're lucky to be married with that attitude. I'm glad that I always strike up conversations with people I have never seen before -at stores - in lines -airplanes etc. That is still the best way to meet people. I have only had one negative experience in ages . I was looking at an abandoned property and noticed a woman just off a cell phone call. I asked her if she knew anything about this land and she said "I'm very cautious about talking to people I don't know" I understood -there were no people for miles but generally I have lots of fun. When I take my famous dog Shasharoosticus -even more so.

I am married now but really nothing has changed - perhaps even more out-going. I never used Tinder- Facebook maybe.
