Last time I was in Florida (last fall) I drove from my dad's house in Hollywood's, to my mom's in western Dade county. The GPS took me through Krome avenue. It was night time so I couldnt really see much but that was one road I actually enjoyed being on. It had a rural vibe, it was low traffic, flat land with no buildings, it reminded me of like, Oklahoma, and I had James McMurtry blasting in my car. I really dug that drive. It was real chill. Usually driving in the Miami area gives me stress and anxiety. But not on this road.

Then a few months later I read about the most dangerous roads in America and saw that Krome Ave. was on the list for Florida (or maybe just the Miami area) and I was surprised! Even more surprising was when my best friend from high school said that Krome was the road where her cousin was killed 9 years ago when an 18 wheeler struck his car.

Is this road really that bad? I heard what makes it dangerous is how dark it can be at night but its also a pretty straight road. Didnt seem bad to me but I have driven through most of the states in all kinds of weather and times of day.

Since they widened it, and limited cross roads....it's not that bad any more

Corrie, does Krome go back to two lanes when it reaches Avocado Drive (296th ST) heading south?
